RAID recovery

If you unplug more than one disk from a RAID 5 volume or more than two disks from a RAID 6 disk volume, the RAID volume will crash normally.

With QNAP NAS exclusive RAID recovery technology, when more than the allowed disks are removed from a RAID volume, you can still recover the RAID.

The system will recover to the degraded mode by just one-clicking.

Note: Before recovering the failed disk volume, please confirm that all hard disks of the disk volume are properly seated in the NAS drive bay. Once recovery is completed, back up your disk data immediately in case the disk volume fails again.

Benefits

  • Protect the data integrity
  • Minimize the risk of data loss when hard drives failed
  • Support JBOD, RAID 0 (will be recovered to the normal state)
  • Support RAID 1, 5 and 6 (will be recovered to the degraded mode)
